About Us
From a simple idea to a neighborhood gathering place.
It started with a kettle and a conversation.
The Daily Grind opened its doors in 2016, born from a late-night conversation between two friends who believed their neighborhood deserved more than chain-store coffee. They wanted a place where the barista knew your name, the beans told a story, and the walls felt like home.
What started as a tiny corner shop with three tables and a second-hand espresso machine has grown into a beloved community hub — but the ethos remains the same. We still hand-write the daily specials on the chalkboard. We still greet regulars by name. And we still believe that a great cup of coffee can make a hard day a little softer.
Every bean we source is traceable to a farm or cooperative we have built a relationship with. We pay fair prices, visit when we can, and share those stories with you on every bag we serve. Transparency is not a marketing line for us — it is the only way we know how to operate.
Sustainability
We use compostable cups and lids, source from farms practicing shade-grown and organic methods, and donate spent grounds to neighborhood gardens. Our roaster runs on renewable energy, and we aim for zero single-use plastic by 2026.
Community First
We host open mic nights, local art shows, and free coffee cupping classes every month. Our community board is reserved for neighborhood events — no corporate ads, ever. A portion of every sale supports a rotating local nonprofit.
Our Team
Our baristas are coffee professionals, not just staff. Most have been with us for years, and every one of them is trained in manual brewing, latte art, and — just as importantly — making you feel at home.
Quality Above All
We roast in small batches three times a week in our back-room roastery. Every bag is dated, and we never serve coffee older than ten days post-roast. If it is not exceptional, it does not make it to the grinder.
Our promise to you.
We will never compromise on quality. We will always treat our farmers, our team, and our neighbors with respect. And we will keep the door open for anyone who needs a warm cup and a quiet place to breathe.
Direct-trade or fair-trade coffee. No exceptions.
Days maximum from roast to cup. Freshness guaranteed.
Of monthly sales donated to local causes and mutual aid.
